I-School is a top-ranked private academy providing middle and high school students a nontraditional fast-track pathway to local colleges, Ivy League, and choice international universities. It is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The non-sectarian, non-profit organization offers year-round instruction. Students can transfer their course credits taken at I-School to other schools.
I-School is an academy unlike any other private school, turning traditional education on its head. Offered as an alternative to a one-size-fits-all curriculum structure, the school operates using competency-based learning principles. Students receive individualized instruction and college pathways by identifying the student's unique learning styles and critically analyzing the student's needs and desired outcomes. The well-trained staff understands that not all students can and will learn in an environment restricted by time. Instead, I-School's philosophy empowers students to prove mastery of core competencies no matter how long mastery may take. Competency-based education focuses on what the student knows rather than how much time was spent learning about a subject. The student is rewarded with advancement as soon as they can prove mastery in an area, whether mastery takes two weeks or two months.
The school offers one-on-one instruction for 56 programs, including music, languages, Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and dual college credit for high school students. Students can complete their studies full-time or part-time, providing flexible schedules for traveling, competitions, and unforeseen events. The co-ed campus offers short instructional days that start at 10:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.
The application process also allows students to enroll full-time or choose from “a la carte” options for a tailored experience. Individual courses range from $200 to $590 per semester, while tutoring starts at $75, and standardized test proctoring is $35 per test.
