Living in Lake Tahoe is incredible year-round—but winter doesn’t play around here. When the snow starts falling and the temps drop below freezing, your home needs to be ready. Whether you live here full-time or own a second home, this guide will help you avoid common winter pitfalls and protect your investment.


1. Inspect and Service Your Heating System

Don’t wait until the first cold snap to find out your furnace is dead. Schedule a professional HVAC inspection now. Clean or replace filters, check pilot lights, and make sure your thermostat works. If you rely on a wood-burning stove or fireplace, get your chimney cleaned.
